I created Steel Shop Systems to explore and share what actually works in steel fabrication — better systems, leaner processes, and a smarter shop culture.
Who I Am
I started out in the produce wholesale and distribution field, but after six years, I realized it wasn’t where I wanted to spend my career. I began looking for roles where my experience in inventory and retail management could translate — and that’s what led me to my current position in MRP at a low-volume, high-mix fabrication shop. It didn’t take long to see the value of lean management. Even a 1% improvement in a process can make a big impact when the margins are tight and the product mix is complex. I also quickly learned how much shop culture affects productivity — and how overlooked that often is in operations discussions. Steel Shop Systems is my effort to share what I’m learning, connect with others in fabrication and manufacturing, and build a community around practical systems, cultural insights, and smarter ways of working. Whether you're managing cut lists, working in PowerFab, or just trying to streamline your shop's flow — I hope this space helps.
